Ube goes to Hollywood

LET'S take some time off and reflect on the ube, shall we? It's a purple root, and it's indigenous to the Philippine Islands. It's the "special" that makes the Halo-Halo Special, and it is the number one flavor in our homeland, when in most other countries, it's either chocolate or vanilla. And it could just be the thing that will make it to Hollywood .

Based in Manila and Los Angeles , Ube Media is a creative and innovative entertainment outfit that produces films that will introduce Manila to Hollywood with a fresh, neoteric project in the works. Shedding light on the major project is Ube's twenty-two year old entertainment media manager Shiela Lina. This petite and feisty chinita represents the new breed of neo-global nationalists, inspired by a positive outlook that Filipino filmmaking can achieve commercial success even in the world's most competitive and demanding film arena. Their solution is to be handled with care-it's a film venture entitled "Porcelain."

"Porcelain" is a story of an American journalist who becomes entangled in the political and emotional intrigues set into motion by a mysterious Filipina socialite (played fittingly enough by Rosanna Prieto).
